am about to watch this show so i don't intend to judge something i don't watch as yet but while reading through the comment Jane by Design was mention. i can't compare the two show since i have not seen this show as yet but my opinion on Jane by design is it is a wonderful show and it worth renewing

wtf, this show is so genius, I loved it! Why it's cancelled? For example Jane By Design is worse and so childish but is not yet cancelled meanwhile this one is :S:S

But, again I will say. This show was another couldve, shouldve been good series. These writers are given so many great ideas then they do blah to everything in the script. I dont get it and dont want to get it. I could write 1/2 as better with 1/2 as less on my worst day. So again Ill say "I just dont get it".

how could anyone cancel this show..... yes the episodes are alike but if the producers focus more one developing the characters...... and not having a new criminal in every episode then the vewing rates will go up, and anyway how could they not have a sieries 2 after thet finale?

This show is more like Fringe and the only reason why anybody is comparing it to Lost is because of the fat guy. This show is definitely as good as Fringe and better than Lost.

Cant be compared to lost. The biggest let down for me in this series is that the episodes are almost alike. First part is criminal (time jumper) introduction about how they kill and who they kill, 2nd part is the ingenious way on solving cases by the big boob girl and big-tummy guy, third part is of course the capture of criminal. I can say that its pretty much like fringe or rather I would say a series pertaining an episode of fringe and the title would be "criminal jumpers" -
I simply can not see why they say ratings for this show is below par. Do people prefer zombies now instead of real mystery and intrigue? Alcatraz is one of the best shows of this generation. It keeps your mind busy, trying to figure out the what, the why and the how. The best part of every episode is the ending...the last 10-20 seconds when you stare at the screen and go: "WHAT THE FFFF?!!!"

I love the way the network tells the viewer its a 2hrs finale .....but when you remove 35/45mins of AD Breaks it becomes abt 43/45 mins an episode .

Ahh you see i was a avid LOST watcher I even had my own message board with over 2000 users. Lost did get lost in it's own success with the ending being a bigger let down than battlestar Galactica. I know this show is going to get old very fast if every week the plot goes. 1) prisoner/s comes back... 2) they nearly catch him/Them but not quite... 3) he does a few murders... 4)They catch/Kill him. imagine that for 300 episodes YAWN. I still think clones.......

This is quite interesting, and tailor-made for 300 episodes! The story line seems freighted with unimaginable possibilities. It's off to a good start. I saw a comment about how LOST was terrible ... for SIX terrible seasons, during which time it was consistently acclaimed far and wide, and is counted among the top ten series of all time by critics, with between 11 and 15.5 million viewers per episode. LOST won actually hundreds of awards and still more nominations for awards. It won the Outstanding Drama Series Emmy in 2005 and the British Academy Television Award in the same year. It took a Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild awards in 2006. It had a huge ensemble cast of skilled actors, including Michael Emerson (see A Person of Interest), who won an Emmy for his Benjamin Linus, and Terry O'Quinn, also an Emmy winner for his portrayal of John Locke. The accolades go on and on. Not so bad for being ... so bad. There is no accounting for taste, it seems. Perhaps, if you don't like something, something else could be found, unless you get off on panning things vast numbers of other people find entertaining.

If this is good then it will be cancelled just as i get interested but if it is anything like that nonsense LOST then im sure it will go on for many series.... Il wait for season 2 before giving this a shot perhaps.

Here is what i think is going on. They take blood use it in some way and clone the people on the island then after they Think they are fixed release them back into society to see if they can be rehabilitated by removing the Evil gene. The guards they are doing the oposite. Let me look back on this and hope i can say told you lol.

I hate stupid NASCAR.. we all know that they watch in the hope that there will be a crash... they should only air NASCAR in the south were all the rednecks live.. Wow its gone from 10 million to less than 6 in 7 weeks, wow at this rate we will lucky if they even show all 13 episodes. Heres the big problem the only thing interesting about the show is the mystery about the prisoners, catching the criminals is boring and old hat especially for a scifi show

you have no idea what your talking about mantini!! this show is doing so great that they have even brought it to australian television! theres no way this show is going to be cancelled, its different, thrilling, confusing and amazing! i couldnt even sit through the first couple of episodes of lost.. it was boring and it drags on too much, ALCATRAZ is the opposite!! it keeps you interested!

this show is hanging by a thread and has already lost more than 50 percent of its viewers in the states,JJ Abrams should dtch this show and focus more on fringe,it is nothing AT all like LOST.Fox will cancell this soon mark my words.

I really want to like this show and so far I do. I just don't want to invest so much time just to be disappointed in the end. Oh well, I'm all in at this point and till my favorite shows come back I have nothing else to watch anyway.

Just watched the first episode after hearing the names Sam Neill, Jorge Garcia and JJ Abrams. What can I say.. I'm hooked. Totally recommend this!
