Oliver has brought back many new skills from his time on the island and despite the watchful eye of his new bodyguard John Diggle (David Ramsey, “Dexter,” “Blue Bloods”), Oliver manages to secretly create the persona of Arrow – a vigilante – to right the wrongs of his family and fight the ills of society. This show is a good time pass and thats it because its the same whole secret superhero stuff with a slight twist and nothing more. We all know how this is going to end therefore its on my list just to kill time.

Saw the billboard in Times Square (NYC) and thought I'd check out this new show....Well I actually really like it. I did not think it would be all that great because I just assumed a man with a bow and arrow how would that turn out in tv land but surprisingly very interesting. I am up to episode and I really hope I can stay interested in this show because there are shows that seem to start out great and slowly fizzle out like Fringe for example. Anyway....it is worth checking out!!!!

@Personman1234 -well comic wise, he is suppose to be a Bruce Wayne/Batman spin off with a robin hood twist. So his fighting style and tech + gadgets are suppose as so or like so. We'll see how they spin the story of his training I guess.

Good so far, but I have some serious plausibility issues that will hopefully be explained. There's two big things that don't make sense (yet):

--Where is he getting all that tech? Grappling arrows, hacking arrows, etc. Did he fabricate it? If he was an IV league dropout, where does he have this skills for all this? Especially the programing. I doubt this island had a programming training academy. Is he a super genius, because that's not been mentioned, and you think it would have been.
--His fighting style is all establish stuff (mma, juijitsu, etc.). Where did he develop/learn that? Did he know it from before and it was refine on the island? If so, who on this island did he fight with?
I understand him learning/refining (or further developing) parkour skills on the island, especially if he already knew some. But the rest of his skill set seems to not make sense. The arrow cave also is plausible, especially since he's rich. But the other stuff requires tons of training, and he's no Bruce Wayne, a genius who spent years learning, refining, and mastery his multi dimensional skill set (traveling the world in the recent movies, less traveling more schooling in the comics). This guy was on an island. -

So far really good show, a new take on Robin Hood but excellent with it! Think Oliver and his new bodyguard "dig" will have a great friendship! Evil mother Moira - butter wouldnt melt in her mouth!!!

Meh, the action was great, but they totally messed up Green Arrow cannon. I mean, if you watched Smallville, both of Oliver's parents were great people murdered by Lionel Luthor. Now only his father is dead from the shipwreck? His mother is evil? Merci wasn't on the island? It wasn't a tropical island? He wasn't rescued by modern pirates? His mom lives in the Luthor mansion? lol jk that last one, but it's the same set.

Ok it's not like Smallville which made me nervous and it also being on the cw. It's a bit darker, like the flash back, Yes I did catch that mask of Deathstroke the Terminator on the island in the beginning. His sister as Speedy? well they will do the drug episode where she will come out out it and find out her brothers identity, then be Speedy. As for Dinah Lance, she'll be caught by the bad guys, and somehow be exposed to so sort of trap or situation that transformers her into Black Canary. Just hope this show doesn't lose the edge it's trying to develop. It does have to compete with cable and the blah soap opera formula. Guess cuz the Avengers has raised the bar. Warner Bros. that owns DC comics needs to think out of the box and make some noise to compete.

All in all it was a great epiodes...BUT I can not belive Arthur King...Merlyn....is Oliver Queen best friend...for God sake they did this in Smallvile with Luthor....friends becoming emeies..WE HAVE HAD ENOUGH OF THAT....COME ON GET CREATIVE...that so generic AND I don't know why people r BITCHING about him killing people; at least there bad guys.....it was not so long ago that your Self Rightous Superman from Smallville KILLED Titan in Season 6 !

Only two things i disliked: 1.kinda didn't like the narrating 2.the whole flashback between now and the boat crash I think they could of done it differently. -

Awesome Pilot, it might just last for a long time. Hell of a lot darker then Smallville was. Which gives its edge like the Batman movie remakes did.. So many unanswered questions about where he pulled the Bow and arrow out of from though. Could'nt have been on the life raft.. If they keep up the soft violence which Smallville didn't have, than I defs keep watching..
