• Summary:
  "Blue Bloods" is a drama about a multi-generational family of cops dedicated to New York City law enforcement. Frank Reagan is the New York Police Commissioner and heads both the police force and the Reagan brood. He runs his department as diplomatically as he runs his family, even when dealing with the politics that plagued his unapologetically bold father, Henry, during his stint as Chief. A source of pride and concern for Frank is his eldest son Danny, a seasoned detective, family man and Iraq War vet who on occasion uses dubious tactics to solve cases with his loyal and tough partner, Detective Jackie Curatola. The Reagan women in the family include Erin, a N.Y. Assistant D.A., who also serves as the legal compass for her siblings and father, and single parent to her teenage daughter Nicky; and Linda, Danny's supportive wife. Jamie is the youngest Reagan, a recent grad of Harvard Law and the family's "golden boy".   The abundance of conservative values, right wing clichés are really annoying. Male domination and macho behaviour come on top of this to make it even worse. Tom Selleck's acting is way too constipated and too much posed. But I watch it because the dynamism and the stories are good and the scenes from New York are beautiful.

  If only the writing was at least up to par on this show so the actors wouldn't have to work so hard to overcome the endless phrases that would never be said by one human being to another. In asking myself why I continue to watch, it must be because Selleck has improved so much from his Magnum PI days. It's inspiring in that respect, but honestly, the writing needs so much more maturing it's doubtful there's enough time for it to occur. Wahlbergs overbearing, boorish and humorless character is hardly anybody that could be tolerated in real life because when everything in life is as important as he portrays it through his character then nothing is. The most discouraging aspect of all this is how readily the audience laps it up.

  This is usually good. I only skimmed through this, because it involves someone who seems to be like Al Sharpton, and I can't stand him. This made this unwatchable for me.
