I don't like deb very much. she irritates me but I don't hate her either. I wish she'd drop the whole I'm in love with my brother thing though. it's awkward and it sort of makes my skin crawl.

I love this show but I'm also glad next season is the last. They have already stretched out the plot as far as it can go, and it only makes sense for Dexter to get caught/get killed/escape. I feel so badly for Deb, this is not going to end well for her no matter what.

After that club shooting in i forget what season... Debra ended up in the file room after being practically fired, with Officer Manzon taking her spot as detective. Then we never seen Detective Manzon ever again... LOL
The best thing is Quinn though,
He KNOWS for a fact Dexter is a stone cold killer...
He knows he was involved with Trinity, He KNOWS for a FACT he killed Liddy.
He just DGAF anymore the next season!
Dexter saved his ass from the Liddy murder charges... but still CMON -
Dexter was starting to go soft on us that season.... but when Brother Sam died that season and Dexter was willing to forgive the kid for Sam's sake.. He snaps out of the combination of him already holding back his Dark Passenger then add on top of that the kids arrogance about not being caught. Which triggered my favorite part of that season Dexter's brother Brian shows up as his Dark Passenger! We see Dexter get a quickie from the cute girl at the mini mart! Take her gun! Speed down the highway shooting at billboards and signs! We could have had a whole season of Dexter get down with his bad self.

Would've been so fun to watch a season of him embracing Brian's guidance and doing all these things on impulse.
We even see Dexter LOOSE CONTROL and have an Out Of Body Kill with the pitchfork on the Motel guy!
Brian dropping the bags into the water made me laugh a little though. -
MRSPARKLE.. some nice insights there! One of my thoughts is.. the religious season where he found the guy who really had changed, but again, he fell apart when the guy died, even tho Sam asked him to forgive the guy who killed him.. That didn't leak into this season at all and I was hoping it would. Like, he just dropped it like he drops everything.. The American way sometimes but I thought it had a more profound influence him. And I was wrong. I wish he would evolve a litttle more.. Which also seems to be your point too a bit. If the point is that he can't evolve.. Then maybe they are doing the show just right? Im not sure about either but..

Watched the entire series these last 2 months.
Ive got to say this quickly made my top 5 of Favorite TV Shows,
With Season 1 Alone...
Hands down Season 1 was the best in the series.
The inner monologue is brilliant,
Its like your reading the book that gets better with every page.
Season 1 might easily be the best out of the bunch,
But each season felt like cracking open a new chapter in Dexter's life:
Season 1 - Estranged Biological Brother, Kills people too, Tries to kill Deb? Gotta Kill Him.
Season 2 - Crazy+Sexy New Girlfriend, Makes me feel normal, Shes actually too Crazy? Gotta Kill Her.
Season 3 - My First Best Friend, Wants me to teach him my ways, Doesn't follow the code? Gotta Kill Him.
Season 4 - My Future As A Serial Killer, Could he be my role model? Whoa can i let my family end up like this? Gotta Kill Him.
Season 5 - Damaged New GF Needs A Hero, She accepts my darkness, Did she just use me to get revenge? She Can Leave
Season 6 - Religious Psycho, Makes me wonder about god and faith, Cant change who i am why believe in god ? Gotta Kill Him.j
Season 7 - Hot New GF Also A Killer, Accepts both sides of me, Kills when has to, (Will i have to choose between Her and Deb?)
Off course on top of this we see Dexter struggle with other things throughout the seasons:
-The truth of his origins, why he has become what he is
-His evolution of emotions in his relationships, Is he capable of loving Rita, Is he capable of having a family?
-Can he really share his darkness with anyone? Will anyone truly accept him for everything he is?
-Can he raise Harrison and be a serial killer? How long till his son will see him for who he is? Even worse will he become like him?
I think the only miss step in the series lied with the predictability of the special guest stars;
The pivotal role in Dexter's development as a character, Then their inevitable demises each season.
Also the sudden injection of humor and one liners coming FROM DEXTER Himself in season 5 just seemed odd for his character.
The only two things that would've made me a happier viewer would have been Mark Peregrino(Paul) cast as Dexters Brother and to have him personify Dexters dark passenger as someone he can talk to.. kind of like how he talks to his father who usually steers him in the safe/right way, His brother could have been the darkness trying to take full control of Dexter. They only did one episode like this, But this concept could have been a full season of this kind of interaction which would've have been GREAT, ESPECIALLY with Mark Pelegrino playing the role of his dead brother. -

Judging by the title of the last episode, I think that Sgt. Doaks may be coming back. I know that Doaks was caught in the explosion but he may have been knocked out and back. He was in the Special Ops branch of the Army. Maybe he had contacts follow him in case he didn't respond in a timely manner. Maybe there was a body switch. They identified his body by his muscle mass and later by teeth, but we have all seen that switch before. Special Agent Lundy also had his doubts but the evidence spoke louder than he. Now I maybe stretch it, ha, but then again I don't need to, I"m long enough...
Ahem. Sorry. I have always been a fan of the show DEXTER. BTW the FOX pilot "The Following" is a pale imitation of the essence of the show DEXTER. I know its not a hand in hand vibe thing but its sucking on the mojo of the Show DEX. Opinion not Fact. -

Debra: Has to go and have to sleep the whole thing off somewhere else;-) I am still hoping for her to hit her head and forget everything so Dexter can get back to business, but then again it is kind of funny for debra trying 'normalizing' Dexter. I like the try! Its funny! Like last season where he thought he could get saved by Good or Jesus. He almost did. That's what's great about the show: "He almost did". -
