I read re: Patrick Dempsey that re: after Season 8 he signed a contract for 2 more seasons. Hope it lasts that much longer at least since I just got caught up via a viewing marathon, lol! Love this show! :D

lol you all make me sick , i love this show and in any tv show thats long running actors/actresses come and go, i love all Shondra's shows, will be moving onto Private parctice once im done catching up with this one, im at the beginning of the 7th season end of season 6 was awesome, keep it coming, and why dont all you haters go watch something else instead whinging on here , not like anyone of importance will see it anyway :P, this show makes me laugh,cry and even on the edge of my seat and i love Derek <3, heard hes leaving after season 9 is done or already has, that indeed will be sad.

People upset by the plane crash. 1. You realise it is just a show right? 2. People disappointed in Shondra for killing off Sloan and Lexie...what else is she to do when the actors want to leave the show? Is she to keep writing for characters that won't appear on screen?

This show used to be spectacular, but like many soap operas (let's face it: it is a soap opera) nearing their end it has started to fall flat. I think one of their biggest mistakes was the plane crash. At first the plane crash looked like it would be a interesting turn of events, but it turned out that it was there just to kill off two characters whose presence really brightened up the show. After the plane crash everyone got depressed and it became more of a sad love story kind of show AND now that they are at the very top they can't make mischief anymore. It's gotten boring. I feel like it should have ended at season 8. Just my opinion.

It really started to piss me off the way they started to film this episodes...in the begging they were shooting with a lot more light in the backgrounds...now it just seems dark..>!

@Snow_Angel: I totally agree with you in everything, this show was meant to be an amazing, epic, fun and espectacular tv series, but they made it too long and wacky and they are doing the same to private practice. Its just dissapointing.

@moonlight-girl I think seasons 1-7 are good, 8 was alright, but now, with season 9, it's just lost nearly all of its pizazz! Somewhere along the line, the magic has fallen away! What is happening to this show!

I have actually noticed this with a lot of my favorite shows lately. I know this is completely off subject, but out of all my shows, these are the ones that have suddenly gone downhill JUST THIS YEAR;

Anyway, back on subject, Grey's Anatomy has really lost its spark. Personally, I think it started with season 8. Christina and Owen breaking up, the plane crash... I mean seriously, a plane crash, only to kill off two of the most important and beloved characters, Mark and Lexie! Ugh! I LOVE this show, but Shonda is letting me down BIG TIME! Season 8 should not have been allowed on tv, because it ruined everything! And Gearge and Izzie should never have been killed off in the first place! I LOVED THEM!! The show had some balance before, some rhythm! Now it's all screwed up! I don't like this season either. Merideth, Karev, and Yang are all Attendings now, and are no longer the mischievous interns and residents that we all love. They are at "the top of the surgical food chain" and can no longer stir up trouble like they used to.
I don't know, I am just greatly disappointed in this show these days, along with many of my other old favorites, including the ones I have listed above. Rest In Peace Grey's Anatomy! I think this is a sign of the end times lol(not a funny joke really, but strange) -
This is my opinion and I respect all of your opinions but, Im dissapointed of Shondra Rimes, I mean, this show was the "bomb" at first, but she started to kill the most important characters of the show and she still doing it, like with Lexie and OH GOD WHY?!?! Mark Sloan :'( i Just want to see the finale of the show...Its a great show though but it have to end, it doesnt have that first sparkle like in the begining (1st-5th and maybe 6th season)

I watched the first 3 seasons and eventually lost interest. Just recently I decided to watch last season's ending and this one's premiere ... that's it, I'm hooked again. It was intense!
