Here we go again:
They build a show around a central character then introduce a second who becomes so important to the story line(s) that the writers have to create increasingly absurd plots to try and keep the show fresh.
If they stay with the Carrie and Brody dynamic, I the show will likely loose its freshness/uniqueness and disappear into increasingly convoluted plots.
Alternatively, if Brody is removed then they can reinvent the Carrie character whenever and however they want without turning the show into a cross between 24 and one of those CSI shows. -
Middle of season 3; Carrie will be convince brody is terrorist then end of season, try to kill him and learn saul is terroriist as well

Carrie's dam unstable. GREAT SHOW, next series please

aside from everyone calling Carrie crazy. I don't think she is. I actually know what it feels liek to have everyoene doubt you and not for nothing but genius people are usually talked about as if they are crazy. I think that is what is going on with her.

HOLY CRAP HOW AM I JUST NOW LEARNING ABOUT THIS SHOW !???!! IT IS SOOO GOOD!!

This show is terrific. We can clearly see why Claire Danes and Damian Lewis won Emmys. From some of the comments on this site, it looks like some do not realize that Carrie has an untreated bipolar disorder, hence her erratic, emotionally charged behavior. She's definitely not over-acting. People with this illness who do not have regular therapy and take prescription drugs, will act in this way. Ms. Danes does an excellent job portraying the nuances of this complicated mental illness.

The CIA should recruit the daughter and send her after Abu Nazir, if she can't bring him down, nobody can. I think if I had a daughter like this, I would ship her off to Afghanistan and drop her off with the taliban for a week. That would probably be just enough time to completely cure her of whatever has got her mind on tilt. I'm just saying........

"Bitches Be Crazy"
She has a personality disorder which is obvious if you've seen the show before. -

Bitches be crazy -
great show one of my new favourites.

Great Show except for Carrie... She is overly dramatic and it makes me sick! I can understand occasional drama from a women but she is constantly on and on and on about some bullshit or another. And she fuckin cries on a whim. I have never seen a show where the main character goes from being ok to crying in a repeated circle throughout an entire series. I cant honestly think of a single episode where she hasn't cried or been overly dramatic for less than 90% of the time. I recommend that the writers and the director fix the massive character flaw that is both unrealistic and potentially detrimental to the show.

Just getting into this... Think I'm gonna love it, as I like it a lot already, after watching the pilot.

Damien Lewis seems like a perfect choice for the part.
Quiet and withdrawn attitude, but with obvious charm and intelligence.
All of it suggesting untold (suspicious) depth without alienating the audience. -
That's cool Ive always loved acting since i was young but ive only done plays from high school and some improv. I thought of trying to be an extra for homeland but by the time i figured out they were going to be in my town it was obviously too late.

Cool beans, St3phy!..I've only been on a few sets: one movie short made by a friend and one feature film. But it was fun both times. I got to be an extra. Did a workshop once, too. With a director - and after all of that I can see why people who love it want to act. Though pretty sure I'd want to work behind the scenes if, in another life, I had a career in the industry. Long days but also a great time. :o)

Wow just realized some scenes in season 2 were shot literally 2 minutes down the road from my house.

Just wish the opening sequence was not so drawn out - it's waaay too long. Thought they'd make it shorter the for 2nd season but guess that was too much to ask for? Otherwise, great tv! But why do the opening credits waste/take up too much potentially good actual episode time?? :0o

Mole hunt - Ref. my earlier post, Saul is the only one who actually had a blip, that we've seen, during the lie detector test and he also closed Carrie down after she worked out what the sniper was actually for by sending a team to detain her. It is true that he broke the terrorist who's boyfriend was murdered, but this only led to the sniper's identity being uncovered which just added to the belief that it was just a lone sniper after the vice president, re-inforcing the terrorist plan. I am not convinced, though, as he was the one who pulled strings to give Carrie a few weeks to of surveilance (although if Brody was in the know about this then what would it matter?).
One more thing, we now know we don't have to look for anyone else to pass the blade, but there still has to be a mole as not everyone was party to some of the information that was seemingly leaked, doesn't there? -
Mole vote - At first I thought David Estes. Deliberately got himself all worked up about his wife leaving him over his affair with Claire Danes' character to obfuscate the lie detector test. He is either incompetent or playing his own game as deliberately obstructive to every good idea. But then he went and sat in the same room as the vice president after the shooting - damn.

Now thinking it is the muslim agent Danny Galvez working for Sol/Carrie as muslim puts him on my radar with little else to go on for suspects, and he was also in on the tale of the professor when he was warned not to go back to the house at the airport. -
who is Mole in it?? did anyone figure it out...

With every episode I am more amazed by how good Claire Dane is, I had no idea she was such a good actress. And I like how they are not rushing the pace... a TV series for people with a post-teen attention span in this day and age, who'd a thought it, eh?
