I know the Republic City Dispatch said that it's not likely she was going to commit suicide, but Lalonde made a great point - she felt like she wasn't the Avatar anymore, so she wanted to get it over with and let the next Avatar take over. That's the only actual reason that convinced me that she was going to commit suicide.

@Agion- read my previous comment. Unknowingly, Korra DID unlock her chakras during the span of the show, through life experience. I saw a post that pointed them all out- I'll try to find it. Guru Pathik (that damn spitit voodoo guy) warned Aang that if he didn't unlock his final chakra (letting go of Katara), he wouldn't be able to enter the Avatar State ever again. When Ozai through him into the rock that hit his wound, it unlocked. If you ask me, Korra's way makes more sense.

I also think Amon's backstory was very well done. I wouldn't have liked it if it was Sokka's son, call me crazy but I don't want every plot line in Republic City to be related back to the Gaang. That's just unrealistic. -
No, her lowest point was when she crying by the cliff: She was going to commit suicide. That was the significance of the shot of the tear drop. She was so close to the edge that her tears could fall down to the bottom. She felt like she wasn't the Avatar anymore, so she wanted to get it over with and make way for the next one.

In AtLA, we learned that in order to control the Avatar State, the Avatar must give up all worldly possessions. Aang didn't want to give up Katara, so he had to take a different approach. But for Korra, the fact that she was about to end her life so the world could have its next Avatar showed that she detached herself from everything and everyone, especially Mako. By doing this she unlocked her spiritual side and was able to enter the Avatar State. -
Is that it?? is it over or will there be another season?? ?

Yes, episode could've been better. To answer some questions- Her lowest state was when she had no more pride left. Korra is totally differnt from Ang. Ang depended more on others, but K is more self reliant, ballsy, and stubborn. She also feels her identy is the avatar. Its who she is not what she does like Ang thought. So when she lost her powers she felt worthless and it was her lowest state. No pride no powers no love etc. Hope there's a s2!

First of all, people we are not texting and would like real words. Second, I love this show and have watched all the avatar episodes and I thought the ending was great. It is a spin-off series so we kind if need to keep our expectations low but overall I thought it was fantastic and can't wait for next season.

A1. it means the fact she lost her abilities to no longer bend earth, fire and water (a broken avatar) due to blood bending. with all thats left within, her emotional "airbending" she was able to connect with aang in the spiritual world. how? perhaps, theres a location that acts as bridge to the spiritual world some where in Air Temple Island.
Aang: "When we hit our lowest point, we are open to the greatest change" -- basically the "Avatar state."
Other points:
A1. yeah it would have, but she can't (no water bending). lucky shes the avatar. regardless if shes born from the earth, fire, air or water tribes. she still can connect to any past avatar, that exist in the spiritual world, from there culture locations. that would be non sense, if she was just stuck with one...e.g. only watertribe spirit, therefor we would have no aang to restore her powers. so by all means, she being the avatar with one bending element, should she have a choice.
A2. all due respect- yes, you or anyone else for that matter have the right to your opinion, but that doesn't mean anyone has to listen.
A3. if you truly appreciate the show, you would not be complaing about the ending. in that case one could (complain), say they made a flaw in the beginning, by making amon/noatak very powerful near --unstopable over time. instead of focusing on korra's training (the avatars story). so they have had a very small amount of time to weaken him off. i love being a fan after all we are not the writers here just critis, we shoud'nt really try to (re-event the wheel) sort of speak. they have bigger plans and obviously is hiding some content e.g. (tarrlok or naotak escapes) that may be a spoiler for the next season.
Final thing:
that statement sounds a bit selfish? atcually, we see the series for what it is and try not to be apart of it, this way we can accept what is put before us. if we knew whats going to happen in series before it happen that would make the story line rather boring.
last, you keep saying it could be better, in your own opinion it would have been, but not everyone would like what you do, in that case does this make it less good or epic? no, as you see everyones expectations can't be meet/satisfied it's impossible. the writters did and amazing job keeping the story together.
really, i like your thinking... but i wish only you would give the writters a chance before you try to paint the big picture. have a nice day. -

1. The of Lengend of Korra is sequel of Last air bender!
2. The ending of Last air bender; weather it was a good ending or a bad ending has nothing to do with Korra season one finale!
They reason people r bitching over this is because the ending seemed rushed andthe way it all went down gave us a disney ending feel.
But what piss me off is that i have a strange feeling that the writers for Season 2 will not answer any of the Question upon Questions in season 1 and forcus more on korra x Mako x Asami romance. -
@Agion dude relax a bit, would ya. this ending was fine. yes, it was nothing compared to the AVATAR endings, but NEWSFLASH! this isn't the AVATAR, so stop comparing it to it. if the AVATAR never aired no one would be saying that the ending was crap.. plus it's only the first season. everyone is saying there will be more seasons and probably way better finalees.

1. the person she loves told her he loves her.
2. she still has airbending.
Other points:
1. she was from the watertribe, no way in hell that airbending is quote:''connected to her spirituality.'' it wouldve made more sense if she waterbended.

3. the series was totally great till this crap ending. We arent complaining for nothing or to get ppl to h8 this show, we had great expectations that were crushed. That is the reason why we complain.

to all that think the (seasonal) ending was great:
Do you remember how aang had to get into his avatar state? he had to go to a damn spirit voodoo guy and unlock all his chakra things. The only thing korra had to do was cry... BS. Is that all it takes to get the powers to go into the avatar state??
Amon being Tarrlok's brother was also crap. It wouldve been much better if it were like sokka's son that got mad because a bender killed his father(and mother). At least that wouldve emotionally been better. We all know sokka from avatar aang so you would feel with him. But no, we get some unknown brother tarrlok that can also bloodbend and get a 5-10min flashback of their life.
1:if you're going to do that, then make him a son that couldnt bend and got mad/jealous and wanted revenge
2:he got some paint on his face and that fooled ppl to believing he has a scar? there was a damn guy standing next to him, he couldve easely seen that it was just paint and not a scar....
Season finally or The end: THE POINT IS THAT IT COULDVE BEEN 1million X better than they made it. -

The producers themselves said THERE WILL BE AT LEAST TWO SEASONS! But the gap could be lenghy, anywhere from late fall until early spring next year because they're "really giving it there all into the animation" yes its a mini-series a real mini one...most mini's ik have 13episodes o.e and the allmyvideos link works fast(for me)and had a perfect picture. -
compared to aang,korra is a piece of cake,aang worked for everything and faced so many challenges..korra is just getting lucky,she doesn't even care to relax and mediate,this story should open,korra needs to be pushed to breaking point,i dont know who since tenson and Amand are out,am pretty much enjoying this story but it is not keeping me at the edge of my sit yet.

Everyone calm down!!! This isn't the last episode. The series will still continue...You see the Creators Michael Dante DiMartino & Bryan Konietzko have confirmed that Book Two's writing has been completed since the beginning of June and it is in the process of being storyboarded and animated. There is still no broadcasted date announced on when they shall start showing the season. But they have confirmed that it will have a total of 14 episodes. It's quite disappointing to hear that we will have to wait for a long time just to see Korra start her adventure of being an Airbender which will last for only 14 episodes. I hope they could change their mind on adding another season after the second book because this is an amazing show and we are big fans of this show...

as for the "how did korra airbend after amon took her bending" i think its because korra didnt have airbending before so when amon took her bending, he only took her water, fire and earth bending, then when she connected with her spiritual side, she was able to airbend... maybe...

Second of all... WOW! that was an amazing ep i really do hope that they make more seasons coz i hate it when they make only one season of a tv show and leave you guessing what will happen next.
Third of all... WOW! (okay maybe i should stop saying that :/) there were so many charecters in here that had the AVATAR personalities or voices, like young Noatak sounded alot like aang when he was young, and that homeless guy they were hiding out with looked like Shu and Dock from AVATAR Season 3 ep 3 "The Painted Lady".. and by now im pretty sure that General Iroh is Zuko's grandson.

omg this episode is soo amazing , i read a comment saying that there is not goin to be a 2nd season , , which killed me a lil bit inside , i really hope the creators change their mind and make a second and even a third season , becuz this show is incredibly amazing , the ending had me smilling soo much , i loved it sooooooooo much.

@JohnnyFuentesIII you should check your info again cuz this show is coming back on a second season. NICK requested it. It was originally announced on the Comic-Con tha it was going to be a 25 eps mini-series but then they decided along with NICK to divide it into 2 seasons and a total of 26 eps.

I loved soooo much this ep that I'm going to watch it once again. Cried at the ending thou when all Avatars appeared I couldnt help it. Dont care what others are stating bout the show and the finale I still find it cool and no lacking of sense since there is more to come on a 2 eps longer season! GO KORRA AND TEAM AVATAR!!!! Oh, and I guess since she's able to get into Avatar state perhaps she'll be able to restore stolen powers. Whatcha people think? I really wanna see Lin in action again.

Okay, peace out. and the episode was good, including the ending despite what others think. It was a good way to end it I think anyway, because we had a 2 villain for the Last Airbender - prince Zuko, most of the time, and his father for 3 seasons and had 1 in this season, Amon, his brother doesn't really count, and they finished it up with him, so...good! New villains, bring'em on! WHOO! -
