Fighthawk, No problem. :D I'm glad I could help a fellow fan of Doctor Who! Oh, I forgot to mention that in the episode "Reset" and the two episodes following that in Season 2 of Torchwood will also be semi-confusing if you haven't watched all of Season 3 of Doctor Who. Just remember that you may find that you like Captian Jack Harkness better in Doctor Who, than in this show. But you'll just have you to find out for yourself.

FighterHawk, you can start watching Torchwood. Since you've already "met" Captian Jack Harkness there will be no problems with you starting to watch it now. At the end of of season 1 of Torchwood "End of Days" and the first episode of season 2 "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" might get confusing if you haven't watched Season 3 of Doctor Who, but even if you don't you'll be alright watching it. You'll understand it later on when you past Season 3 of Doctor Who. I hope this helps you.

I think Torchwoods safe for a fifth season, Eve Myles and John Barrowman are both happy to jump in, just waiting on Russell Davies, but whether on Starz or BBC America it likely won't be 2012 by the time it starts airing.

@iFeelsoHot unfortunately i think not, i have looked all around on the internet and have not been able to find anything about a season 5, although it could be done i am sure, they could set it in the U.S even.... to soothe myself i am watching all over again from the beginning.

It isn't absurdly neutral. Many regions of the US have a bland/neutral accent and the people from those regions are good at picking up accents from other places. I've grown up in Kansas, which has a neutral accent. Whenever I visit somewhere else, be it Texas or Florida or Nevada, I usually pick up on the accent within a few days and supposedly sound natural enough to confuse people into thinking I live there.

His American accent would be that of a Midwesterner. -

It keeps me busy when there is no Doctor. :) -
dude... John Barrowman is British... do a little research (although granted, I only discovered that tidbit by happenstance while I was surfing youtube a few weeks ago)

the way he tells it, his family moved to the United States for his dad's job, and he was getting teased for his accent by the kids in school - so he forced it out of his voice... but he still speaks with a Scottish accent around his family.
if you notice, his American accent is absurdly neutral, it doesn't really sound like any one region... which actually works pretty well for the role of Captain Jack
